if i wait for kde session is completely started
then
i launch skype
then
webcam works with skype !

i must start skype after the start of kde about 2 mn after.

i must write a script like this :

wait for 2 mn
/usr/bin/skype

then i must ask to kde to start it when kde starts

do you know the script statement for waiting 2 mn ?

Something as described here (if the script is a bash one):

Last problem with nvidia driver :

If I update :
Afin de poursuivre la mise à jour, les paquetages suivants doivent être désinstallés :
nvidia-current-doc-html-304.60-69.1mib2010.2.x86_64
(car x11-driver-video-nvidia-current == 304.60-69.1mib2010.2 est non satisfait)
x11-driver-video-nvidia-current-304.60-69.1mib2010.2.x86_64
(car kmod(nvidia-current) == 304.60 est non satisfait)
dkms-nvidia-long-lived 304.60 69.2mib2010.2 x86_64
un espace de 88Mo sera libéré.
14Mo de paquets seront récupérés.
Procéder à l'installation d'un paquetage ? (O/n)

http://mib.pianetalinux.org/MIB/2010.3/ ... x86_64.rpm
installation de dkms-nvidia-long-lived-304.60-69.2mib2010.2.x86_64.rpm depuis /var/cache/urpmi/rpms
Préparation ... ################################################################################################
L'installation est possible

But if I do that nvidia is broken.
Then I have to uninstall all nvidia and dkms, restart with vesa driver and run drakx11 to reinstall nvidia driver and dkms. After that nvidia is ok. But on the next update I get the same sequence and so on.
Ne lâchez rien.

@andré

in the file /etc/urpmi/skip.list

put the statement

/^dkms-nvidia-long-lived-304.60-69.2mib2010.2.i686/

thus

this packet will be ignored

Oh ! I well know that ;-) thank you.

What I mean is : why this dependencie trouble ? And just a return if the packager wants to correct it.

Finally drakx11 has a dependency problem : it does not install and intent to build module with x11-driver-video-nvidia-current. Then it fails.

When system upgrades, it does not install x11-driver-video-nvidia-long-lived and it has to be manually installed : dkms tree is updated. But therefore it is impossible to use drakx11, it fails, breaking X.

The problem is the dependencies and/or drakx11 : perhaps this one needs to be rebuilt against new xorg ... that suppose rebuilding all drakxxxx ?

Anyway for the moment, all is right if not using XFdrake, or, if it is broken, uninstalling all nvidia/dkms then runing XFdrake and after that update manually.

@andré

to recover

unactivate the packet source X server 1.13

then
with drakx11
install xorg "nouveau" driver
then
restart
then with "configurer le serveur d'affichage"
just
click on "carte graphique" button"
then
let the tool choose the driver
then
answer yes to install proprietary driver
then
ok till the end of the work

then
activate again x server 1.13 packet source
but don't forget the statement in skip.list

hal unactivated

i disable hal (hal daemon does not start at startup)
then
i restart pc
then
- keyboard and mouse works : pb solved (was not working without hal)

- webcam works

- clicking on"file manger" in kde notification for a sd card does not launch dolphin : pb not solved (pb appeared when updating to x server 1.12)

in the systray

- draksnapshot appears and send notification "error when DBus initialisation, disabled service"

- in kde notification multimedia system says " default audio device does not work, come back to default"
thus no sound at all (input and ouput device)

- when launching "pulseaudio volume control" then with same error message "fatal error : unable to connect: invalid parameter" many times (50 and more) without stopping. i must kill pavc

when i open kmix i see:

- the nvidia sound card (in fact the hdmi sound part of my nvidia graphical adapter)
- the webcam sound card (in fact the micro of the webcam)

but not my sound card AD198x (chipset of MB)

conclusion :
- we are far from a complete udev (udisk ?) management
- what to do to solve audio pb ?

I'm sorry but this is a problem well outside the graphic stack field...
In the 2010.1 the distro skeleton is not prepared to work totally without HAL, hence the problems you're having:
I can easily have the xserver & Co. working without HAL, but for more (sound, disks, etc)
I should know how the "plumbing" really works and change that, and I don't.

Anyway for the sound thing:
- check that the needed kernel modules are loaded (they should, because are independent from HAL)
- check what you have enabled and in the Audio Hardware Setup tab in System Settings-Multimedia-Phonon: you should find all the audio hw you have and the mean to enable and configure it
- check that pulseaudio is correctly configured to use udev: ie that /etc/pulse/default.pa contains the lines:

Code: Select all

### Automatically load driver modules depending on the hardware available
.ifexists module-udev-detect.so
load-module module-udev-detect
Beside that, you should eventually be able to "re-install" your audio card with MCC-Hardware...

for pulseaudio and udev

- yes in default.pa there is

Code: Select all

 .ifexists module-udev-detect.so
load-module module-udev-detect
- in syslog i found this

pulseaudio[22497]: [pulseaudio] hal-util.c: Couldn't connect to hald: (null): (null)
[pulseaudio] main.c: Échec lors du démarrage du démon.

how to ask to pulseaudio to use udev ?
i fear it must be compile against udev as Xserver or perhaps there is a parameter to set at launch or in a conf file ?

You are using the build of pulseaudio 2.1 from MIB, right?
I will need the time to investigate (now I'm helping with the fixing of Contrib packages for the next Rosa 2012.1...)
but, yes, I guess it will be needed a new build (there is a configure option to enable/disable the hal support: that was removed on later May 2012 from master git, but we have an older release...).
I will try to build a such rpm for you...
please be patient, though.
