at the end of the update i have :

Afin de poursuivre la mise à jour, les paquetages suivants doivent être désinstallés :
nvidia-current-doc-html-304.60-69.1mib2010.2.i686
(car x11-driver-video-nvidia-current == 304.60-69.1mib2010.2 est non satisfait)
x11-driver-video-nvidia-current-304.60-69.1mib2010.2.i686
(car kmod(nvidia-current) == 304.60 est non satisfait)

it seems it want to update with dkms-long-lived 304.60
then
consistently it wants to uninstall the nvidia current 304.60 just installed

i answer no

then
i see libdrm nouveau2 is not installed then i installed it
and i don't installed dkms long live

i understand better the pb

a dkms nvidia long lived 69.1 304.60 was installed by the update
also
dkms nvidia current 69.1 304.60
x11 diver video nvidia current 69.1 304.60

and
there is
a dkms long lived 69.2 304.60

this is this one which implies unstalling previous 304.60 packets version 69.1 !!!!!!!!!!!

So I really updated and still in live. All seems to be right (I ran drakx11 after update and it installed nvidia driver correctly). :

@GvMariani

did you compile the new X server against udisk or hal ?

Yesterday I did 2 things:
1) Corrected the dkms-long-lived to fix the wrong module names => that became the long-lived-69.2 (to force the update over the already existing one);
2) Made a release of the same long-lived as "-current" because you convinced me that this is the good way to proceed on an upgrade path.
Still have to see why the doc package fails to install...
You can always manually remove the version you had before and next install the desired one (perhaps the -current one, without the doc package)

As for the graphical glitches in KDE: I'm with Radeon and have absolutely none of them...
However:
a) do you see any error or warning message in dmesg/Xorg.0.log/.xsession-errors?
b) does changing kdm to use Xrender remove the glitches?
c) juggling with the options in nvidia control center does it change something?

1. you misunderstanding my question about v4l.

my question is "in the update of the x server is there any v4l update ?

the answer is yes there is a new x11-driver-video-v4l

2. nvidia 304.60

304.60 is well installed automaticaly by mandriva update tool

the pb is : after the installation of the 304.60 the tool want to install dkms nidia long lived and this has a consequence : it wants to uninstall doc and x11 driver nvidia 304.60

3. changing kdm to use Xrender instead of webgl removes the glitches

4. no error in dmesg

in xsession.errors

in my previous post replace "webgl" by "opengl"

- kernel 3.2.28

graphical boot, glitches with kde with opengl

- kernel 3.4.11

no graphical boot, no glitches with kde with opengl

- kernel 3.5.4

no graphical boot, no glitches with kde with opengl

So with a recent kernel OpenGL is working as it should (perhaps you should try also a 3.6.x, I guess,
because they are the ones with the right DRM support for many features of Mesa 9.0/xorg 1.13...).
You must keep in mind that the DRM in the kernel does not change from a stable kernel release to another one,
bun only from different kernel releases: the 3.2.x is simply too old to avoid the glitches you are seeing, because the new userspace (libdrm)
and Mesa and xorg server and driver all aspect to have at their disposal a more advanced support from the kernel than the one available from the old 3.2.x.

So this leave only the other thing you noticed: what do you mean exactly with "no graphical boot"?
You see nothing until the starting of X? Or what else?
Doing the classical boot in "init 3" (textual mode) and then starting X with "startx" does it work?
the pb is : after the installation of the 304.60 the tool want to install dkms nidia long lived and this has a consequence : it wants to uninstall doc and x11 driver nvidia 304.60
Ie after installing dkms-nvidia-current it still see the dkms-long-lived as un upgrade?
WTF... they should be two different things as rpm/urpmi are concerned.
Could you post a log after an "urpmi --debug" o "urpmi --debug-librpm" run?
