Kernel LTS 4.1.12 for ROSA 2012 2012.1 2014.1 OMV2013 2014 2015

Kernel LTS 4.1.12 for ROSA 2012lts, rosa2012.1, omv2013.0, omv2014.0, rosa2014.1 and cooker (omv2015.0)
This is to be considered as "October monthly update!"
Sorry for the delay, but ABF was been severely broken...

Hoping that ABF is finally full properly repaired, at least it should be so for the ROSA part...
None RPMS is for OpenMandriva untill the ABF build and publishing issues will be solved..

As a first rebuild, I have started a light rebuild limited to ROSA linux and -desktop flavours,
I want to test if everything will be ok, then I'll start the usual and complete flavours rebuild.

Kernel 4.1.12

Re: Kernel LTS 4.1.12 for ROSA 2012 2012.1 2014.1 OMV2014 20

Post by NicCo »

nrj kernels are ready and available for all rosa distributions,
you can start just now installing kernel-nrj-desktop flavour,

there is a build issue on nrjQL flavours only:
bfs scheduler need a further patch, otherwise the build fails

you can read about here:
http://ck-hack.blogspot.it/2015/08/bfs- ... 1-ck2.html

here the patch we need:
http://ck-hack.blogspot.it/2015/08/bfs- ... 5524903784

It will be fixed soon, then I'll send it again 4.1.12 to rebuild
(I hope to apply the build fix for this evening or tomorrow).

OpenMandriva is currently preparing a new build server for its own ABF,
here are few other changes to be used to host properly the new server...

In the current 4.1.12 release have been fixed the build troubles for QL flavours:
the nrjQL flavours should be available for your download very soon... just wait...
I've pushed QL desktop to rebuild for OMV and ROSA, check current status here:
https://abf.rosalinux.ru/kernels_4_1x/K ... uild_lists

For this time, the only kernel rebuild will be: kernel-nrjQL-desktop-4.1.12,
as is currently suggested in ABF:
"Quantity of build workers is insufficient. We are working on this issue.
Please don't build large projects for some time."

Later, when this situation is solve, I'll rebuild all usual kernel flavours

Code: Select all

KERNEL UPDATES: STATUS
=================================
Currently, I'm working on Kernel LTS 4.1.13:
within few days will be available the update...
(to be considered as the November update)

as new LTS Kernel, the next will be the 4.4.x,
should be here for early or mid January 2016

while 4.2 has not any official ck / bfs patches
http://ck-hack.blogspot.it/
so it will be just ignored also from me...

perhaps, I'll prepare the current 4.3.x EOL,
around the mid or the end of this month,
but that's with a very short term support,
so, it's not worth investing time on this...

4.1.12-nrjQL-desktop working well in OM 2014.2. Was working well in Cooker also until Xorg packages were updated. Don't know if kernel version has anything to do with that or if it's in the updated Xorg packages...
Thanks,
