XanMod Kernel (currently 5.15) for rosa2021.1

Post by NicCo »

The discussion is about an alternative kernel for rosa2021.1
XanMod is a general-purpose Linux kernel distribution with custom settings and new features. Built to provide a stable, responsive and smooth desktop experience.

The real-time version is recommended for critical runtime applications such as Linux gaming eSports, streaming, live productions and ultra-low latency enthusiasts.

Supports all recent x86_64 versions of Ubuntu / Debian-based systems.

Note: The current proprietary NVIDIA, VirtualBox, VMware Workstation / Player and some other dkms modules builds do not officially support Clang'ed (EDGE) and RT kernels.

Recently, I have been collecting a kernel for myself with the XanMod patch applied. Anyone interested can try.

What is XanMod: https://xanmod.org/

To install the 5.14 kernel, you need to add to the sources the repository located at:
http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/kelpe ... d/release/

Alternatively, for this, you need to create a text file with the .repo extension (for example, kernel-xanmod-x86_64.repo) with the following content:

Code: Select all

name = kernel with XanMod patch
baseurl = http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/kelpee_personal/repository/rosa2021.1/x86_64/kernel_xanmod/release/
enabled = 1
skip_if_unavailable = 1
gpgcheck = 0
priority = 0
Copy this file to the path: /etc/yum.repos.d directory

Then execute the command: sudo dnf up --refresh

Then execute the command: sudo dnf in task-kernel-xanmod

The kernel is checked on this computer: https://linux-hardware.org/?probe=85860b751d
If you have a nVidia cars, you can install also the package dkms-nvidia515
I hope this may be useful for advanced users of new ROSA r12.1
