Upstream update 6.30.223.141
http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php
Hi,
I have patched the proprietary driver for Broadcom WiFi adapters again,
this time - to fix crashes at boot
(http://bugs.rosalinux.ru/show_bug.cgi?id=2146).
It works fine on my laptop but additional testing is needed to make sure
the problem did go away.
If you have a laptop with Broadcom WiFi adapter and ROSA Desktop Fresh,
it would be great if you could test the updated driver there, check if
there are any problems with WiFi.
'lspci -vnn | grep BCM4' will tell if the system has the appropriate
controller. BCM4312 and higher are needed.
The updated package (dkms-broadcom-wl-5.100.82.112-13) is available in
my personal repo:
i586:
http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/spect ... in/release
x86_64:
http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/spect ... in/release
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Eugene

Re: [rosa-devel] Broadcom-wl - testing is needed
I prepared packages for the new broadcom-wl driver (6.30.223.141) for ROSA Fresh R1, they are available in my personal repository:
i586:
http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/spect ... in/release
x86_64:
http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/spect ... in/release
Only 'dkms-broadcom-wl' package is needed from there. If you would like to try it, install/update 'dkms-broadcom-wl' and then reboot the system.
I added some patches (from Fedora) to make the driver build on kernel 3.10.x as well as a couple of our own fixes that address kernel crashes at boot.
I have tested it on a machine with BCM4322 controller as well as on my laptop with BCM4313, seems to work fine so far. If someone else could also test the driver on their systems with Broadcom WiFi controllers, that would help a lot.
