Greater partition for root (/) as default installation

Sezione obsoleta.

Greater partition for root (/) as default installation

Post by NicCo »

I have noticed, that the standard/default hd space for ROOT / reserved by mandriva, 7Gb, is too small:
So many users using the default config for their installation, have serious problems with lack of space in root

I suggest to raise this quantity at least to 10 Giga!

My / is 10 Gb but even 10 is too small - I have almost 9 Gb used for now. I'm going to install 2009.1 on 15 Gb / partition when it's out. :geek: But surely I vote for at least 10 Gb.

I choose 20/25 Giga, for my /

But I said to raise this number for /, then Mandriva should choose the proper dimension, but it's surely necessary to raise:
For me, the default 7Gb, is pretty very ridicolous...

Hello, i have 10GB in my root. In this moment my free space is 2,6 GB, i compile in the home space.

I vote for 10GB, it's ok for all use.

this improvement is planned in 2009 spring specs.
