Ubuntu 10.04 avrà il supporto per iPhone/iPod

Con il rilascio di Ubuntu 10.04 atteso per il prossimo mese di aprile, la celebre distribuzione Linux potrebbe guadagnare il supporto nativo per la gestione dell'iPhone e dell'iPod. Lo riporta il blog OneOpensource (http://www.oneopensource.it/02/03/2010/ ... pod-touch/), citando questo post, di Robin Nixon su ubuntuforums.org.
Il supporto ad iPhone ed iPod sarebbe stato già introdotto in una forma incompleta nella alpha 3 di Lucid Lynx e salvo inconvenienti gravi dovrebbe arrivare al pieno completamento assieme alla versione finale di Ubuntu 10.04. iPhone ed iPod dovrebbero essere riconosciuti da Linux come normali hard disk esterni i cui contenuti si potranno quindi gestire direttamente da Nautilus. Le funzioni più evolute, a cominciare dalle playlist, dovrebbero essere gestibili tramite Rhythmbox.

Finora le gestione di iPod ed iPhone in Linux si è sempre basata su software specifici. La stessa Apple non ha mai rilasciato una versione apposita del software iTunes che viene reso disponibile solo per Mac e per le versioni recenti di Windows.

Sorry to bud in in english but reading this stuff really pisses me off,why does Ubuntu get the credit when it was in fact Christophe Fergeau aka Mandriva's teuf who actually was the one who added support to libgpod for the touch/iphone/nano5g (and in fact is by far the largest contributor to libgpod) :evil:
