Re: nvidia 304.64 unable to update
On rosa lts I followed a similar procedure (the local repo was in the rpm tree when I tried to install the rebuilt driver or in my download path when I tested the precompiled drivers from cooker), but I always got the same error. So my question is: the problem is or not related to the presence of t...

Re: Kernel nrjX(treme?), the Next Generation... a step forwa
Installing a new kernel on mdv 2011 is like a bet, the most times you loose, rarely you can win Some months ago, In one Pc of a friend where installing a new kernel seemed impossible, I replaced the 2011 dracut version with the RM2012 dracut, then the problem was solved, because at the next attempt...

Re: Kernel nrjX(treme?), the Next Generation... a step forwa
Hi, A question: In which Distro did you try? Mandriva 2011 (I read that from your signature) or RM 2012? We know about some problems often happens when you install a kernel on a mdv 2011 (I think that the "dracut" version in mdv2011 is rather crap...) Yes, it's on 2011 x86_64 that I am working. I ha...

Re: Kernel nrjX(treme?), the Next Generation... a step forwa
Good news about ABF :) There was some problem with, at least, the method I follow: [..] getting exclusive lock on rpm installing kernel-nrj-realtime-devel-3.5.3-69mib-1-1-mib2011.0.x86_64.rpm kernel-nrj-realtime-3.5.3-69mib-1-1-mib2011.0.x86_64.rpm from /var/cache/urpmi/partial starting installing p...

Re: Microcode firmwares for cpu AMD / INTEL updates
I installed microcode-0.20120313-1-mib2011.0.noarch but the module did not load at next boot. After `modprobe microcode', I see # dmesg | grep microcode [ 5163.914439] microcode: CPU0 sig=0x6f7, pf=0x10, revision=0x68 [ 5163.917878] microcode: CPU1 sig=0x6f7, pf=0x10, revision=0x68 [ 5163.921347] mi...

Re: Community ROSA Marathon 2012 ISOs with kernel LTS 3.2.16
Thanks for the KDE configuration instructions. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1286780/gifs/greetings.gif It seems all my problems with disk/partitions not appearing is due to dracut being used to mkinitrd. I used /sbin/mkinitrd-mkinitrd to generate this for kernel 3.2.16-desktop-1rosa.lts and all my disks ...

Re: Testing repository to try KDE 4.8.3 on ROSA 2012 LTS
I added the 64-bit repo and did urpmi -v --auto-update in a chroot from MDV 2011 to 2012lts . Without any hiccup, about 460 packages, including kernel 3.2.16-desktop-1rosa.lts got updated. There is an issue with a disk controller, apparently, yet to be solved, but the KDE 4.8.3 update seems smooth a...

Re: Community ROSA Marathon 2012 ISOs with kernel LTS 3.2.16
I'm running a mid-tower PC desktop machine, not laptop, but tried the kernel switches strategy. For my situation, there is no difference, install crashes back to reboot after the "Please wait" window.

Install over ftp/http?
Hi,
I can't find a Rosa 2012 tree such as Mandriva has, with isolinux/alt0, install/images/boot.iso, etc. to do a network installation. Is this or will this be possible? Thanks.

Re: Community ROSA Marathon 2012 ISOs with kernel LTS 3.2.16
A problem that I noticed after the installation is that there is no possibility to create links to folders and applications on the desktop from the contextual menu. Is it a general problem? This, also, concerns me. I am trying to be not characteristically inflexible, to learn the new KDE desktop pa...
